Give Chuckwalla National Monument a fighting chance

Born and raised in Southern California, we left home to pursue careers in service. After seeing the world and finding our callings – one as a medical doctor and one as a Marine, we returned to Southern California to serve our communities.

The Chuckwalla National Monument Will Be An Investment In My Generation

Designating the monument will permanently protect and bring awareness to an important landscape so that other young people like me will be able to hike, camp, learn about local wildlife and more. The Chuckwalla National Monument will be an investment in my generation and future generations to come.

As a Brigadier General, I implore President Biden to designate the Chuckwalla Monument

Today, I urge the Biden administration to continue their commitment to public lands and public service by designating the Chuckwalla National Monument and protecting public lands adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park in the California desert. I recently joined other retired generals and flag officers in signing an open letter to the administration in support of the proposed monument and hope to see the president take action.

Chuckwalla Monument designation a boon for Coachella Valley

Designating the Chuckwalla National Monument in the California desert and expanding Joshua Tree National Park? Yes and yes. This is an historic opportunity to preserve the culturally significant 660,000 acres that would hug Joshua Tree National Park’s southern boundary, stretching along Interstate 10 from the edge of the eastern Coachella Valley all the way to the Colorado River.
